The Heart Of The Matter
Kathy Trader was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with. She wasn’t just a hairdresser, she was a friend, a person with a heart of gold, and a person that always offered a listening ear. Kathy went home to be with the Lord September 19, 2021 and there has been a real void in the lives of so many since her loss.
Cindy had been in prayer and had talked with Kathy’s daughter Angie as to how to keep Kathy’s legacy alive while helping others in the community at the same time.
The Lord spoke and Kathy’s Heart has been birthed as a partnership outreach of Living Waters Church of God and The Fisher’s Hook Ministry Inc. which will help provide meals to the elderly and shut-ins within the town of Pocomoke City.
Jesus said in Matthew 25:35 “I was hungry and you gave me meat, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you took me in.” This is the vision and purpose of Kathy’s Heart and it is with our whole hearts that we extend love, compassion, and help just as Kathy did. From Kathy’s heart to ours and into the hearts and lives of others, we are here to show Jesus in a very real and tangible way. Kathy’s Heart has been born and lives inside of us.
Operation Christmas Child
The Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts‑filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift—filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, has collected and delivered more than 188 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 170 countries and territories.
Anyone can pack a shoebox. Individuals, families, churches and groups fill empty shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys, such as dolls or soccer balls.
During National Collection Week (Nov. 14–21, 2022), Samaritan’s Purse will collect the gift‑filled shoeboxes at nearly 5,000 drop‑off locations in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
